Our story begins in the 1970s, when José Prudêncio, born in Caldas da Rainha, an entrepreneur with a lively spirit and determined personality, decided to take a risk and enter the waterproofing sector in northern Portugal.

In 1974, Impersol was founded, marking the beginning of a solid and trustworthy journey.

In 1992, the family business took a new shape with the establishment of J. Prudêncio, Lda., resulting from a partnership between father and children. Today, the company is led by Alexandra Santos and Filipe Santos, who continue to carry on the legacy with a forward-looking vision.

The year 2018 marked a strategic turning point, with a renewed image and a more authentic, dynamic positioning. This was the birth of the Prudêncio Impermeabilizações brand, focused on what truly matters: excellence in detail, recognized as a symbol of waterproofing in Portugal.

Since then, we have continued to grow and strengthen our market presence, with an emphasis on innovation, certified quality, and strategic partnerships. Every milestone we achieve reflects our determination to always do better and prepare for the future on solid foundations.

1974

Launch of Impersol

Founded by José Prudêncio, it marked the starting point of a path dedicated to waterproofing.

1992

Establishment of J. Prudêncio, Lda.

With the entry of his children into the business, J. Prudêncio, Lda. was created, reinforcing the family character and initiating a new phase of growth.

2016

Exclusive representation of KÖSTER TPO membranes

Prudêncio became the exclusive representative in Portugal of KÖSTER’s TPO membranes, strengthening its commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions.

2018

Brand renewal: Prudêncio Impermeabilizações

A turning point: the company introduced a new, more authentic and dynamic identity, adopting the brand Prudêncio Impermeabilizações and reinforcing its market presence.

2019

ISO 9001:2015 Certification

We achieved ISO 9001:2015 quality certification, confirming our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

2020

First individual R&D project

Approval of the first Research & Technological Development project, highlighting the strategic focus on innovation.

2024

New facilities at Sete Fontes Industrial Park

A milestone of expansion: the move to Sete Fontes Industrial Park with new facilities that enhance capacity for response and growth.

2025

Second collaborative R&D project

We launch our second collaborative Research & Technological Development project, reinforcing cooperation and leadership in technological solutions for the sector.
