Check the foundations

In the event that the foundations of your home are directly in contact with the ground (ground floor), it is necessary to pay attention to the moisture coming from the water sheets created by the soil, which can be more or less soaked, depending on the intensity of the precipitation. For this reason, it is essential that there is a waterproofing barrier between the bottom of the building and the ground, in order to prevent the entry of this moisture into the structures of the house.

Special attention to the roofs

Roofs are one of the most important components of a building, with regard to its safety and protection against weather phenomena, since they are the most exposed areas.

Thus, it can be said that the roofs are the first defense of your home against rain. For this reason, they must also be the first areas to be checked during preventive maintenance. It is in the roofs that the rainwater drainage system should be considered, in order to prevent water from entering the building.

Watch for water stains in the attic or discoloration at the bottom of the roof. Make sure that the areas around the ventilation and the chimneys are carefully inspected by professionals.
