Prudêncio was responsible for the waterproofing of the roofs of another design project of the Architect Carvalho Araújo: Galeria de Arte Mário Sequeira (“Mário Sequeira Art Gallery”).
Galeria Mário Sequeira was founded in 1994 in Braga, North of Portugal, at the ground floor of a farmhouse from the late XIX Century. The main exhibition building, designed by Carvalho Araújo, was opened to the public in June 2000.
Throughout its history, the gallery held the first solo presentation of Andy Warhol in Portugal, solo shows of Richard Long, Franz West and Nan Goldin.
The programme is focused in showcasing and supporting the work of national and international artists, a strong encouragement of developing curatorial practice, an artist-in-residence programme, and educational projects. The gallery is open with free admission to the public, five days per week, throughout the year.
