At the BMW Caetano Baviera unit in Cascais, Prudêncio was responsible for the full rehabilitation of the workshop and showroom roofs. The project included the application of a high-quality solution designed to ensure watertightness, durability, and compatibility with future interventions.
Challenges and Requirements
The translucent areas of the roof showed fragility and required structural reinforcement to ensure safety and resistance.
The rehabilitation system had to provide not only waterproofing and thermal performance but also flexibility for future adaptations of the building.
It was essential to guarantee the continuity of the system even after the installation of additional equipment, such as solar panels, without compromising watertightness.
Adopted Solution
Reinforcement of the translucent areas with metal profiles, ensuring greater robustness and stability.
Application of a system composed of PIR (polyisocyanurate) thermal insulation panels and KÖSTER TPO membrane, recognized for its high quality and long durability.
Three years after the completion of the initial intervention, we returned to the site to apply 300 special anchorage points, supplied with an integrated KÖSTER TPO membrane. These points were welded to the existing membrane and fixed to the resistant base, passing through the system without compromising its integrity.
This solution ensured the correct fixation of the solar panel structure installed by the client, while keeping the previously applied waterproofing intact.
Results and Benefits
Fully rehabilitated roof with long-lasting waterproofing and improved thermal performance.
Elimination of fragility in translucent areas increases the building’s safety.
Guaranteed watertightness even after integrating anchorage points for solar panels, demonstrating the system’s adaptability and reliability.
A project that highlights Prudêncio’s ability to deliver rehabilitation solutions that are not only robust and efficient but also prepared for the future.
