A demanding project where the adaptability of Prudêncio’s system was key to the success of the intervention. At the Salazares/Ramalde campus in Porto, Prudêncio was entrusted with the rehabilitation of the roof of the ISAG – Instituto Superior de Administração e Gestão, a building of great academic relevance.
Challenges and Requirements
The roof featured multiple planes, volumes, and structural elements that caused several issues, including infiltration and loss of performance.
It was necessary to apply a highly effective solution capable of responding to the roof’s complexity while ensuring continuity across all areas.
The system had to provide both efficient thermal insulation and long-lasting waterproofing, contributing to the comfort and protection of the building.
Adopted Solution
Application of PIR (polyisocyanurate) thermal insulation, adapted to the different planes and elements of the roof, ensuring superior energy performance.
Installation of KÖSTER TPO membranes as the final waterproofing layer, delivering continuity, durability, and enhanced resistance.
Careful integration of all flashings and critical areas, ensuring a watertight and robust solution even with the roof’s particular complexities.
Results and Benefits
Elimination of the problems caused by the discontinuities of the existing roof.
Improved thermal performance and greater comfort for the building’s users.
A continuous, durable system resistant to previously identified weaknesses.
Enhancement of a higher education building of reference in Porto through a technically rigorous and tailored intervention.
